Weekly Development Log #4 (Jose Gonzalez)


Hey, y'all ! Welcome back to the page. 

I'm Jose Gonzalez and this is my week 4 devlog to the game, DeadShot! 


Goals for the team this past week: 

  • We worked on adding in even more mechanics into our game before the alpha is due next week.
  • Collaborated during the weekend in order to work on the project and run some ideas by each other.

Which of these Goals have been accomplished by the team? 

  • We talked about the health system and more about the crosshair for our shooting mechanic. We came up with some good ideas that I think will work in our favor. 
  • We worked together this past weekend to implement what needed to be done. 
  • We want to try and gather as much materials as possible in order for everything to start coming together for our game. So we ended up adding even more ideas. Such as working on the wall jumping some more and implementing a playground level.

What are the team's goals for next week?

  • Receive feedback from the class and work on areas that need even more improvement.
  • Continue to work on the core mechanics of our game.
  • Import even more assets and work on level designs.

What have you accomplished this past week?

  • So I worked on the design of the health bar and I imported the code of the crosshair into my team's GDevelop project (DeadShot!) 
  • I was looking into how I can have the health bar actually work. I'd like for the bar to deplete when the enemy is attacking the main character.
  • I've met up with my team on a discord call to discuss what needs to be done. 

What will you accomplish by next week?

  • Working more on the playtest level that will help demonstrate the fundamentals of our game. 
  • Importing enemies and weapons.
  • Meetup with my team so we can continue to work on this project together.

What will you need to learn to accomplish these goals? 

  • What I'm gonna need to learn is how I can add a working health bar and try to implement as much player feedback as possible. I need to ask them what works and what doesn't in order to create something that is important to DeadShot!
