Weekly Development Log #9 (Jose Gonzalez - The Grand Finale)

Hey guys !

Before we get into this week’s devlog, I too wanna thank everyone who has been checking out our game and joining us during this development process. At first, this capstone project seemed very overwhelming, especially with having three other classes on my schedule. However, I made it work. I do know games take a super long time to make and I know ours is far from perfect, but I hope you all are able to see the effort that my team and I have put into the game. It’s been an honor having to view and provide feedback to the games of the other teams.

Goals for the team this past week:

  • Adjust enemy behaviors.
  • Importing even more art assets into the game.
  • Small level design tweaks.

Which of these Goals have been accomplished by the team?

  • I fixed the boss as he no longer clips through the ground.
  • We’ve implemented a lot more buildings this time around.
  • Slight tweaks to platforming.

What are the team's goals for next week?

  • Preparing ourselves for the final showcase at the Hostos Arcade on Monday.
  • Crunch whatever we have to do before the deadline.

What have you accomplished this past week?

  • I’ve implemented more assets into our project.
  • I managed to stop the boss enemy from clipping through the ground during the boss fight.
  • More enemy tweaks have been made.

What will you accomplish by next week?

  • My main focus will be on crunching whatever more ideas we have left.
  • Cleaning everything up with polishing.

What will you need to learn to accomplish these goals?

  • I will playtest the game as well to make sure everything behaves as it should. As well as seeing if the level has a good flow.
