Weekly Dev Log #1(Alex Rutishauser)


Hello Everyone!

My name is Alex Rutishauser and I am the person responsible for the code portion of Deadshot. In this weekly Devlog, we're going to be looking at our progress for development of Deadshot this week. We're gearing up and getting ready for pre-production of the game so things are slowly coming together. With pre-production underway, the goal for this past week as a team was to meet up and discuss things we need to do in GDevelop in order have a smooth development process. We accomplished this goal by creating a slideshow showcasing the game from beginning to end listing assets and such during our weekly meetings. The team goal next week is to officially start work on Deadshot and getting assets down on GDevelop in addition to making sure simple things such as movement and collisions work properly (if bugs or mistakes occur it will be fixed towards the end before launch). What I've accomplished in the past week is making sure my team meets regularly and is in communication with each other and also working on our presentations for next class showcasing the final game concept. What I'll accomplish by next week to ensure timely development is importing assets and ensuring they function properly before we move into level design and such. What I'll need to learn (or review) is how to create sprites and tweak movement speeds as well as collisions and making sure events in GDevelop are in order and are correct.
